Where Hemlock Point is a story about a difficult site, this one is the opposite case: a good, buildable lot, and the value is in the execution rather than in overcoming the ground. Board and batten siding under a standing seam steel roof, a covered porch, and a double garage, set back far enough into the pines that the house reads as part of the treeline rather than cut out of it.
The steel roof was a deliberate choice for this site specifically. Set back among pines the way this lot is, needles come down constantly, and a steel roof sheds them instead of holding onto them the way asphalt shingles will over years under trees like these. It is a small decision, but it is the kind of decision that tells you how a builder thinks about a site rather than just a floor plan.
Inside, the kitchen carries the same restraint: a white oak island against sage cabinetry, built to suit the house rather than to chase a trend.
