Every builder has a first one. This is ours. We had been building in Muskoka personally for years before this, but 22 St George's Court is the first house that carried the Fuller Developments name, and it set the standard the company has been held to since.

The house sits back in the trees on a lot that drops away behind it, which is what makes the rear elevation work. The main deck wraps the back of the house and looks straight out over Hole 11 of the Deerhurst Highlands course, and because the ground falls, it sits up in the canopy rather than on the lawn. Part of it is covered, built from timber posts and beams under a stained wood ceiling.

There are three ways onto that deck. Both bedrooms open onto it through full-height sliders, and the main living space opens onto it as well, so the deck reads as another room rather than somewhere you go out to. On a lot like this that is the whole point of the plan.

Inside, the great room is vaulted the full height of the gable, with a shiplap chimney breast and a solid timber mantel running across it. The kitchen sits under the same vault, white cabinetry and black hardware against wide plank oak floors, with sliding doors filling the rear wall. The primary ensuite is finished in large format marble-look tile with a freestanding tub, and a sliding barn door to the shower.

Outside it is black board and batten with a steel roof, timber posts at the deck, and a triple garage with glazed doors on the front elevation. The photographs here were taken at handover, before the owners moved in, which is why the rooms are empty. What you are looking at is the build itself.
